Raphaële Atlan

Singer / Composer / Author / Pianist

Raphaële began her training in classical piano, singing, and dance at an early age. After studying literature at university, she attended the American School of Modern Music in Paris and the Centre des Musiques Didier Lockwood, graduating in 2010.

She trained in vocal improvisation with Michele Hendricks and Sheila Jordan and studied with renowned pianists such as Benoît Sourisse, Pierre de Bethmann, Olivier Hutman, and Franck Amsallem.

A finalist in prestigious competitions like the Montreux Jazz Voice Competition (2008) and Crest Jazz Vocal (2011), Raphaële won the Jazz à Vannes and Lagny Jazz Festival competitions in 2012.

Leading a quartet featuring Romain Pilon (guitar), Zacharie Abraham (double bass), and Nicolas Charlier (drums), she released two albums: Inner Stories (2011) and Give It Time (2015), both on Gemini Records in partnership with TSF Jazz and Sacem. She has toured extensively in France and internationally, performing at festivals such as Jazzahead and the Kriol Jazz Festival.

Raphaële has opened for Jean-Jacques Milteau, Thomas Enhco, and Airelle Besson, and collaborated with jazz artists like Vincent Bidal, Stéphane Guillaume, Anthony Strong, David Linx, and Sheila Jordan. In addition to her jazz career, she has worked as a pianist and backing vocalist for artists like Liane Foly and Christophe Willem.
