Michele Hendricks, American singer, songwriter, and daughter of Jon Hendricks, the renowned singer, lyricist, and founder of the famous vocal trio “Lambert, Hendricks & Ross”, first stepped on stage at the age of eight alongside her father. By fifteen, she was regularly touring Europe with him while completing her dance and theater studies in London. Michele pursued music studies in San Francisco before returning to New York for two years, working with Buddy Rich and Stan Getz.
She later returned to San Francisco to perform in Jon Hendricks’ show “Evolution of the Blues”, which ran for six years. Michele formed her own group on the West Coast and later joined her father’s group “Jon Hendricks & Co”, contributing vocal arrangements to the Grammy-nominated album “Love”.
Michele eventually left the group to launch her solo career, performing in the United States, Europe, and Japan. From 2016 to 2020, she taught at the American School of Modern Music.
She has performed at prestigious festivals such as New York JVC, Monterey, Newport, Northsea (The Hague), Umbria Jazz, Marciac, and in Paris with Herbie Hancock for his project “Gershwin’s World”. Michele has also appeared on numerous television shows in the U.S. and Europe.
Michele Hendricks has worked with some of the greatest jazz legends, including Count Basie, Benny Carter, Al Jarreau, Bobby McFerrin, Herbie Hancock, George Benson, Art Blakey, Wayne Shorter, and many more.
