An international reputation

Since its creation in 1982 by American drummer Stephen Carbonara, the American School of Modern Music has been an internationally-oriented school with a consistently high percentage of international students.

In addition to its connections with the United States, the school also benefits from the exceptional influence of its teaching staff, composed of internationally renowned artists in the music world.

This unique environment immerses students in a professional framework, creating opportunities, fostering encounters, and exposing them to the realities of the music industry.

The American School of Modern Music also organizes numerous events and Masterclasses: Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Steve Coleman, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Tim Miller, Jonathan Kreisberg, Raul Midon, Jacob Collier, Ari Hoenig, Mike Clark (Headhunters), Reggie WashingtonNelson Veras, Charles Turner, Alex Terrier, Sylvain Luc, among others.

The school has also built its reputation on the quality of its graduates over nearly 40 years and their international presence across all music professions: instrumentalists, singers, arrangers, composers, engineers, producers, teachers, and other music professionals (see alumni below). The school thus offers students the opportunity to build an international “network” of musicians and other music industry professionals.
