At the age of 26, the American singer Charles Turner wins the Duke Ellington Vocal Competition (USA) chaired by Mercedes Ellington and is also named the Best Jazz Vocalist at the Monterey Jazz Festival (USA).
He has collaborated with Jason Moran, Bobby McFerrin, Dee Dee Bridgewater and Terri Lyne Carrington. He has performed at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center in New York, and also in Europe and Russia.
