Marwan Boulaid began playing the guitar at the age of 14, initially exploring rock music before transitioning to jazz, fusion, and improvised music. After earning his degree from the American School of Modern Music in Paris, he continued his studies at the Berklee College of Music, where he graduated with honors and received the Guitar Department Award for his outstanding achievement. During his training, Marwan studied with renowned musicians such as Tim Miller, Mick Goodrick, Nelson Veras, and Guillaume Estace.
As a versatile guitarist, Marwan has collaborated with prominent artists including Sylvain Luc, Ichika Nito, Romain Labaye, Pierre Danel, Quentin Godet, Benjamin Petit, Gaël Horellou, Jean-Marie Ecay, Yarol Poupaud, and Ina Ich. He is currently producing his album, “Leap of Faith,” with Romain Labaye (bassist for Scott Henderson), Pierre Danel (Kadinja/Novelist), Willem Jochems (Santiago Bosch, Tim Miller), and Noé Chantraine (Catia Werneck).
In addition to his performance career, Marwan is a dedicated educator, teaching at the American School of Music in Paris, and serves as an endorser for Vola Guitars. His EP Capture reflects his distinctive musical identity, blending modern jazz, rock, and pop influences to create a sound that is both innovative and expressive.
