Lou Tavano began her musical journey at an early age, starting piano at five, singing at ten, and theater at fifteen. The stage quickly became her natural home, where she found her true artistic expression. From her earliest performances, her exceptional voice stood out, capturing attention and admiration.
She honed her musical skills at the American School of Modern Music in Paris, where she refined her vocal talents and explored diverse styles and techniques. This solid foundation would later shape her unique approach to jazz and performance.
In 2005, Lou met Alexey Asantcheeff, a pianist, composer, and arranger of Russian and Scottish descent. Together, they formed a creative duo, co-writing original compositions infused with international influences. Lou’s multilingual artistry shines through her songs, performed in French, English, Balinese, Russian, and Portuguese.
In 2012, she released an EP that paved the way for tours across France in 2013 and 2014. Her talent caught the attention of Siggi Loch, founder of the prestigious ACT Music label, who signed her immediately.
Her debut album, For You, was released in February 2016 and features eleven original compositions and one cover. Each track offers a glimpse into Lou’s artistic psyche, showcasing her deep emotional connection to her music. Often described as a “total performer,” she brings intensity and sincerity to every song she inhabits.
