Music Workshop in Parisduring the summer
For the fifth consecutive year, the American School of Modern Music is organizing a music workshop in Paris for multiple instruments and voice, focusing on jazz, improvisation, and contemporary music, for summer 2025.
The music workshops are organized by the teams and professors of the American School of Modern Music, held at the school’s facilities in the 13th arrondissement at Les Frigos, in the heart of Paris near the François Mitterrand Library.
The workshop will conclude with a concert at Sunset / Sunside on rue des Lombards on Friday evening:

The Level
The workshops are designed to welcome musicians of various skill levels:
• “Introductory” Level: open to all, this level is for musicians who want to discover improvisation, jazz harmony, comping, standards, and the working methods of high-level musicians.
• “Intermediate” to “Advanced” Level: intended for musicians who already have a solid foundation in jazz, harmony, music theory, and improvisation, and who wish to spend a full week immersed alongside an exceptional team of musicians.
The Place
The music workshop will take place in full immersion with the team from the American School of Modern Music at its facilities in the 13th arrondissement of Paris, equipped with 4 music studios fully furnished with all necessary gear, as well as a cafeteria.
In the heart of Paris and close to the Seine riverbanks, the venue is surrounded by numerous food and accommodation options.
The American School of Modern Music
A Parisian institution since 1982, the American School of Modern Music is a high-level music school that trains professionals in all areas of the music industry (instrumentalists, composers, arrangers, performers, sound engineers, producers, etc.), drawing inspiration from the working methods and curricula of the top American universities.
Its teaching staff, unique in France, is composed of internationally renowned artists who have received numerous distinctions (Grammy Awards, Victoires de la Musique, Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres, degrees from prestigious American universities, etc.).
Workshop Program
Classes will be led by professors from the teaching staff of the American School of Modern Music.
Morning (9 AM – 12 PM)
- Theory classes (Harmony, Ear Training, Rhythm, Repertoire)
Afternoon (2 PM – 6:30 PM)
- Instrument classes: group lessons organized by instrument (1h30)
- Ensemble classes: group sessions to apply repertoire work and prepare for the public concert on Friday evening (1h30)
- Labs: small group workshops on specific topics (1h30)
Evening
- Jam Sessions every evening
- Final student concert open to the public on Friday night
